Scots should be grateful to England.

They prospered in all the British colonies and Scottish businessmen thrived as part of the British empire.

Before union, Scotland tried to have it's own colony, Nova Scotia, but France took it away rather easily.

Without Scotland, England would have still done very well and had her empire. But without England, Scotland would have been a much less significant country like Latvia.
