yeah that was sneaky how Showtime advertised that, at first glimpse you would think it was Cotto- vs Margarito,

Before Corley hitting Cotto with the temple shot that put in queer street. Corley catched him with several flush chin shots that Cotto was able to walk through. Torres really hurt him with shots to his chin. No body else have really hurt Cotto and he has beaten several punchers. With the extra weight his chin can only improve.

Cotto is not fighting Margarito. Thank god for Cotto, Margarito would knock him out within ten rounds... at the most. And going up in weight does not make your chin better if anything it makes it worse.

Eventually and the way things are going, Arum is not going to have a choice and he will have to put these two young feared, ferocious fighters in the ring to face one another. Cotto will not even let this get close to the 10th round. Cotto takes out Tony in the 7th.

I actaully think Cotto could beat Margartio, Hatton and Castillo as he is more skilled then all of them IMO.

I agree with your Margarito opinion, but i think Hatton and Castillo are very skilled fighters.

OK OK OK,I did not want to post because as you can see and have realised,I am a massive fan of both. I want to see how Miguel looks at 147 first but going on what I know now,I think Margarito would beat him. Cotto has a GOOD chin but Tony throws so many bombs,is effective at cutting off the ring and has good, effective body punches. I think Cotto's chance of success is in boxing Tony and maybe standing toe to toe selectively, rarely and using those AWESOME hooks to the body as much as is humanly possibly! It would be an awesome awesome fight and one that we will most likely never see,it is a conflic of interests for Arum,he knows Tony is way too dangerous for a future star like Cotto!

Cotto is certainly more skilled but Margarito is a rare breed,he has average speed,a a good chin and power in both hands,he's rugged amongst other things and these qualities compensate for that apparent lack of skill.

I like Cotto a lot also, but I agree with El Gamo, Margarito is too big strong , Cotto can plod around at times, I think he will be even more cemented at a heavier weight. However Margarito would give him some opportunities because Margarito will fight on the inside some, this would be a exciting fight to watch ! maybe this fight will be made down the road sometime ?

Guys? How many are we talking about here?
Name all these guys that dropped Cotto at 140.

ok guy....ricardo torres had him kod on his feet and dropped him....cotto showed heart, but if hes going to stand there and bang vs margarito or castillo he will get knocked the F*** out, especially by tony.......and if Corley can hurt him.....
I agree with you all the way Margarito is got too much power for Cotto and if he tries and trades punches with Tony like he did with Torres than it's lights out for Cotto

    Any thoughts?
Yeah Tony did say that Williams hurt him in practice. Cause Tony hurt his left hand from beating on Williams hard head so much
