Even 5 years ago Lucas Browne couldn't beat James Toney. Let alone 10 years ago.
Toney now is just a fat loud mouth that can do very little to get out of his own way, let alone win a fight against average fighters.
He just needs to stick to eating burgers and drinking beer. Because looking at him in the ring, it looks sad. Real sad. Worse than RJJ- and Toney hasn't even been knocked out at any point in his career.

I love the fighter formally known as Toney, but he really has been the incredible expanding man for decades now. Sadly I'm thinking if he has dropped outta sight, its very likely he is pushing 300+ lbs and literally unintelligible when he speaks.It's a shame when anyone lets themselves go, but when an ex professional athlete does it, it's amazing how bad they look.
Can you imagine a boxing mind of that depth as a trainer/advisor? Its a damn shame

It would be interesting to see what Toney could do with another fighter and I would love to see him try. If he could just keep his weight down, his speech would be a little less garbled too. I struggle to see Toney getting a significant fight now as he just hasn't been busy or sharp enough, but maybe that is the cue to try something else. Maybe like Tyson he just wants to be the fighter, but even Tyson diversified eventually. I don't know.
