I was shocked too. I was shocked as soon as they announced it was a split decision (as well as being shocked every time they showed the press row scoring which I also thought was seriously off (in favor of Peter--especially the first press guy)).

I have a hard time judging whether this was worse than the Quartey-Forrest decision though. Both were really awful.
The show time announcers were sucking off Toney through out the whole fight, the same way HBO was sucking off Quartey the whole fight. SO if you were paying attention the story the commentators were painting you should be upset with the decision.
Disagree completely. The announcers called it as closer than it actually was. BTW, are you actually saying that you thought Forrest deserved the W over Quartey (and that it was just HBO hyping him)?? Even Forrest knew he didn't win the fight (just like, if you saw Peter's face before the result, he knew he didn't win either).
I actually watched the fight again, and have to admit, the announcers were not bias towards Toney, it must have been the beer. However watch the Quartey fight again without the sound on, HBO's announcers were selling the story that Quartey was winning the whole time, and I fell for it the first time I watched the fight, but when Teddy Atlas talked about HBO creating the illusion of Quartey winning the fight I watched it again.

For the record, I still think HBO has the best announcing crew in the game today. They just sort jump on a bandwagon every so often.
