Winky Wright, hasy a busy schedule these days, but that did not stop him taking time out to discuss his boxing career with children Monday at Park Place lexus, Plano, Texas.
Amongst some of the topics Winky discussed with the Children was his big break. Winky was respectful in giving Shane Mosley, who he fought and beat, the credit for his break.
Winky told the Children: "I've chased the big guys my whole career and Shane was the only one who would step up.
There are a lot of politics involved in boxing. I always knew I could win against the top fighters, I just needed a chance."
In regards to his recent controversial draw on June 17, to Jermain Taylor, and the things he said after the fight, Winky relayed to the children his thoughts on the matter, saying: "I said a lot of things after that fight that were just in the heat of the moment. I thought I had won the fight, but there is so much fan demand for a rematch that I am pretty sure it will happen."
Winky added: "I hope my fans respect me not just because of my boxing abilities, but also because of the quality of opponents I have fought. I think if you look at my track record, I have fought more No. 1 contenders than anyone else in recent memory."
