Prisons in the US

I watched a very sad documentary where there are 80,000 prisoners in the USA locked up in isolation. Our own prison population is 85,000. The US throw too many people in prison for a long time without any form of rehabilitation.

The warden wanted to get people out of isolation because they would be dangerous when they come out straight into the community from prison. One prisoner said that when he was out of prison straight from isolation he stayed in his room for 5 months until his mum told him he was not in prison and could come out. He became institutionalized.

They would carry out protests like flooding the cell cutting themselves and throwing excrement. Many had mental health and substance misuse issues. These isolated prisoners were self harming and acting like animals because they were treated like it.

The prisoners also had a novel way of interacting with one another by passing newspapers, drugs and blades using string and throwing them under the prison doors.

so much ass-fucking and mouth-raping in prison, guys get broken ribs while being gang-raped, its inhuman conditions and noone cares. These guys get out lATer in worse shape than when they went in. Then they go out and orally rape children, old ladies, etc. A revolving door. Us prison system is brutal beyond belief.

One guy was in prison for punching someone in a fight and ended up there for 7 years when he should have been out a lot earlier all because of all the incidents in prison.
