Yes it's ooooh so tight I can't think staright...6'7 240 pound power punching BOXER vs a guy who has been an over achiever then an under achiever and really fights DOWN to the level of other fighters.
I'm not saying Brock is not good, I'm not saying Brock won't win a title, I'm just saying right now vs Wladimir Klitschko is not going to be his path to title town!
Look at Wlad's last 2 fights, Sam Peter and Chris Byrd...now Brock is nothing like those guys but A) They weren't chumps and B) He beat them with relative ease....bring up the knockdowns all you like that was actually a GOOD thing for Wlad's reputation he can get up off the canvas and win...no one not even YOU in all of your boxing knowledge thought that would happen!
Now Calvin Brock has fought Zuri Lawrence and Timor Ibragimov and was extremely unspectacular (with the exception of the KO punch....that ONE punch was more exciting than the rest of the fight). Zuri was in no way shape or form ready to be put on that stage...he asked his trainer "Did I do good?" which I know is something as a fighter you want to know but you don't ask like that it shows a lack of confidence. He also didn't put his mouthpiece back in before going back in to fight...Brock might as well have fought Joe Shmoe out of the audience!!! Timor showed us nothing and Brock showed even LESS by not getting rid of him...where was the punching power? Where were the combinations? Where were the tap dancing quick feet
Brock is a good guy, a nice guy but look at him Coach he's AVERAGE...there is nothing that jumps out at me and says "HEY LOOK AT THIS GUY!!!" Defense average, offense average, footwork average, combinations less than memorable, chin relatively unknown due to lack of fights with PUNCHERS.
Coach what the fuck do you see in him that shows you he can beat Wlad Klitschko? Is Wlad over confident? Is Wlad looking past him? Is Wlad going to get KO'd by HIS power but not Sam Peter's?
I will remind you that Wlad has trained hella hard lately and doesn't punch himself out he paces himself very well and if he needs to wait a round before KO-ing someone he does it instead of trying to force the KO...as evident in the Peter fight. Wlad absolutely NAILED Sam with crosses and could have thrown more but just outboxed him but still almost KO'd him.
