Man that was a fun fight, probably the most hurt ever seeing Tito over his career to me. Nice scraps. Garcia may be a dick now, but he went to war with Chico. Poison Jones and Julio too. Tiger and Fullmer traded enough leather to open seedy shops in some red light district.

Fight of the day. You know it had to be.

2008-Lucian Bute vs Librado Andrade, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Lots of mixed reviews on this one as Andrade did go to the furthest neutral corner but the count was a little cheesy. Wright looked like a bit of a homer but I’m not sure it made the difference because was still well on his feet.

1927: Tony Canzoneri W 15 Johnny Dundee, NYC. Wins vacant World Featherweight Title.

Canzoneri “showed that he is unversed in the art of pulling his punches and making them appear real. A crowd of approximately 10,000 began calling for action in the fourth round. While Dundee, essaying a comeback after a year’s layoff was widely cheered as he entered the ring he was roundly booed at the final bell. Many of the spectators left the garden at the end of the seventh round.

Dundee, who weighed 140 pounds the month before, entered at 125½.

Gomez improves his record to 22-0-1 (22) while Zarate, still the WBC Bantamweight Champion, falls to 54-1 (53).`Took a real set on Carlos to move up in weight and go to PR and suffer his first loss. Hes right up there with the top 5 punches all time imo.
