    Default Acelino Freitas

looked at good old boxrec and it says he has two fight lined up for him. But what i dont understand is there so close together and the oppostion is good. first he fights Julio Diaz and then Jonathan Thaxton to defend his WBO Lightweight belt. I personally think the Julio Diaz fight is alot tougher than the Thaxton one. I wonder how he will handle him

I dont think either fight is confirmed, but I hope he takes the Diaz fight. Diaz is a warrior and will fight anyone, he also stands a good chance against Freitas. I don't have much interest in the Thaxton fight.

Yea Julio Diaz is a dangerous fight, would make for a hell of a fight with Freitas as well.. Though I thought that Raheem would too....

I wish Freitas went back to his banging, power punching days where he would just blast his way past opponents rather than this herky jerky odd style.

It still won't erase his quit job against Corrales

He would have been beaten a lot faster if he didn't. It's better for him to box just incase his power won't bail him out and both styles would make trouble for him against Raheem. But Freitas' herk style with Raheem's slick style make for a not so pretty match Not to take anything away from either but that was a fight of two styles clashing that didnt make the other look good, but neither is a bad fighter.

I agree V.D. I still can't believe he threw in the towel like that.

Thaxton is definately not up to par with Freitas it would not be as decisive as when Hatton beat him, but to John's credit the total records of the guys he has lost to are 113 wins-15 losses -4 draws. Four of the guys were undefeated.

Freitas v. Diaz would be a war, I would love to see that one.
