was coming off an impressive March 9th win {TKO 9} over Mark Harris
for the 'vacant' Commonwealth {British Empire} Welterweight Championship.

Immediately after, there was an effort to get Roberto Duran to come back against
the hard-punching and undefeated Brit.

NBC-TV was willing to throw in 'big money' to get this bout on National Television.
