    Mike McCallum

Was nearly KO'd by Kevin 'Boo' Perry.

Mike's legs went all spaghetti-like, and his eyes rolled back in his head
    like a revolving-wheel in a Slot Machine.

If that is true then he may have grown a stronger chin as his career progressed like Ali because the body snatchers chin was magnificent.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

    Friday ~ June 11, 1982

Madison Square Garden ~ New York City

    Attendance ....... 19,969

'Main Event' before the Closed Circuit broadcast of Larry Holmes vs. Gerry Cooney

    Mike McCallum ~ 14-0-0 {14 KO's} ~ 5' 11 1/2" ~ 155 lbs.
    vs.
    Kevin 'Boo' Perry ~ 7-1-0 {7 KO's} ~ 5' 8" ~ 156 lbs.

Mike McCallum {Age; 25 years, 7 months} was looking for his '15th' Straight
    Knockout.

    Kevin 'Boo' Perry {Age; 23 years, 5 months} was a hard-swinging banger from
Philadelphia. But, Kevin had not fought since February 5, 1981 {16-Months}.

    Kevin 'Boo' Perry >
"Nobody wants to fight me. I've had to wait for over 1-Year to get a good bout.
I know my record is only 7-1-0, but I've really had about 20-Bouts in the South
Philly Gym this past year. And I won them all. In truth, my record is really 27-1-0."

"The only guy to beat me, was Tony Braxton {February 5, 1981}, and that was
    a razor-thin 10-Round Majority Decision @ Resorts in New Jersey. I asked for a
rematch, but he won't fight me again. So you know I'm good."

To get ready for this bout, Kevin had only 3-Weeks to prepare, and worked out at
    Joe Frazier's Philadelphia Gym.
