i doubt it would be ward because bhop has said in the past that they are friends and will never fight each other. it could be chavez to get one last big money fight that is very winnable. i dont see bhop taking another fight that isnt a pretty sure win.

Yeah I remember both Ward and Hopkins saying they wouldn't fight, but if they money was right they'd consider it

I see Hopkins challenging himself again

At his age, is it realistic to move down 2 weight divisions ? no. so that means SMW. the champions are:
Ward -unlikely for many reasons, Friends , not marketable, Ward's contractual issues, etc.
Dirrell - Maybe, but is it a big enough fight for people to be interested in?
Froch - Bingo! Froch wants a last fight in Vegas - Tick! More kudos than the Chavez fight, even after the weekend - Tick! Froch will believe he can win - Tick! Froch will be fighting a legend and his "Legacy" benefits if he wins. Tick!
from the other side: enough money to make it Worth Hopkins' time. Tick! Froch's Style made for Hopkins. Tick! Hopkins will believe he can win. Tick! Hopkins will become a household name in the UK to even non-boxing fans. Tick!
This is a very makeable fight. the only drawback is will Froch have the balls to risk his cherished "legacy" against a 50 year old that Calzaghe beat 7 or 8 years ago? and when I say "have the balls", I mean mentally , his courage and punch resistance is without question .
This is a better and more meaningful fight than Chavez and if Froch is to fight again, this is the one, but what I would say to Froch is "Be careful what you wish for!"
IMO , HOPKINS WINS ON POINTS! in a similar way to how Ward beat Froch.

Hopkins doesn't really offer Froch a big money fight. Hopkins is not a PPV fighter, his purse on Saturday was $1m to Kovalev's 500k. Whoever and wherever Froch fights next he's on that combined total minimum. Last time Hopkins was let near a PPV it did 100,000 buys.

Chavez jr's rematch with Vera is the most watched fight in the States this year.

You Know more about Chavez's popularity in the States than me and I realise people would pay to watch him open an Envelope over there. However, if you've seen what Hearn classes as PPV over here, trust me Hopkins vs Froch would be PPV in the UK even if it was in Vegas and shown at 3am British time. And the fact that Hopkins purse was $1m on Saturday is further proof that it could happen because Hearn would guarantee him double that at least.

    Ha!

For sure it would be PPV over here (again - whoever Froch fights next that will be the case) but it wouldn't be in the States. Froch is not PPV in America. The whole idea of fighting Chavez jr is because HE is a PPV attraction with the right opponent, that's where the big purses come from, not the regular shows. I'm sure Hopkins would expect Golden Boy to promote it not Matchroom. If Eddie offered him a wad he'd want to promote it over here, can't see that in Hopkins plans

I hear what you're saying, but I just think that apart from Floyd, for whatever reason (maybe we get mugged a bit) , the big money is just as attainable over here for the rest .
for example , it's widely reported that Froch got £8m ($13m) and Groves £1.5m ($2.5m) for their last fight. if that's the case , who (Including Chavez) earns anything like that ?
I fully take on Board that Chavez is PPV and sells well while Hopkins isn't, but I reckon even if Hearn did a joint promotion with Golden Boy and it was in Vegas , (but PPV in the UK) , that Froch could earn £4m ($6.5m) and Hopkins at least £2m ($3m) .
Better still I reckon they would give Hopkins over £1m to come over here and beat Bellew and Cleverley on the same night!
