That's interesting...GBP promoting two different cards on Showtime and HBO...same night, same time

Joseph Diaz jr. 12-0 in main event vs Roberto Castaneda.

Wondering if Diaz body and growth is ahead of his ability so far? Dude looks sluggish and bulky, winning but showing a taxing style here.

I honestly think that is one of the shadiest stoppages seen in a awhile, they have diagnosed a "broken hand" and threatened a stoppage between rounds with the fighter apparently not knowing he had or suspected one I think that's horseshit. Diaz via tko

I noticed the same thing. The doctor could miraculously tell the hand was broken just by feeling it through the glove. Fighter speaks no English, but that didn't get in the way. Honestly, Castaneda didn't protest much n looked out of his league and flat.

Yeah, it was definitely a questionable stoppage, but I agreed with stopping the fight. Castaneda has now lost 8 of last 9 fights, it was getting hard to watch…mercy stoppage, in my opinion.
A definite mismatch! Its pathetic, the match maker puts together a mismatch but it's up to the doctor, referee, or commission official to save the lamb. Castaneda shouldn't be anything but a sparring partner in my opinion, a sparring partner with extra padding in his head gear. Whoever put that fight together deserves a swift kick in the ass, mainly because he was wasting our time with an absolutely meaningless fight.
The rest of the card was good, not great but entertaining and Diego De La Hoya will be fighting in main events before long. I hope they don't push him too fast.

When they announced GBP regular cards I had some hope that we'd get a little of both promising prospects and semi competitive matches, but these cards are more often than not just used as a sausage making factory. You like some of the product but watching it be made makes your stomach turn. Then again, Showtime has run the same thing in a couple of recent cards. Man, if you told me that a card promoted by Mike Tyson would outshine Gbp and Showtime and produce great match ups like last night in comparison I would have laughed. Hopefully we'll see some improvement. I think the next card is headlined by 45 yr old Tarver vs Jonathan banks . A lot of "names" on undercard but also a bunch of TBA as opponents.
