It must also be said that Wach tried to fight Wladimir with the aid of steroids AND a tampered glove!

Now now, some of those guys were good fighters. Sam Peter was a good fighter, Povetkin is good, Chagaev was good.

Sam Peter who got a gift draw against a 50 pound overweight Toney was definitely a good fighter. Same as povetkin who has literally beaten nobody of worth.

I think povetkin has done pretty good for himself, he beat byrd although this was towards the end of byrds career he gave eddie chambers his first defeat. He had a great fight v huck, that was very close though, he ko'd the unbeated polish fellow early on(I dont know how to spell their names :S) he also had a fairly good win v chagaev and since losing to wlad he has gone on to have two pretty good and entertaining wins with 2 good kos..

Sam Peter was "unbeatable" before Wlad fought him but people seem to forget he became a title holder after that loss

Povetkin is a good fighter. He'll prove himself vs the rest of the division

anybody who thought that Peter was unbeatable obviously knew nothing about boxing.

    False logic

Plus if it weren't at least there would have been a championship fight worth watching

Wlad has been dominant but he will always go down as someone who stunk out the joint when it REALLY mattered.

I still think if he put on a show vs Ibragimov in MSG when a lot of eyes were tuned in, he could have rekindled a lot of interest in the HW division in the States. Of course the fight was a complete abortion. Same with the Haye showdown.

Those guys didn't want to fight him.

Haye and Ibragimov bitched out for sure, but I think Wlad should have stepped on the gas and tried to get them out of there. It was his show and he stunk out the arena.

    Holmes has him tied.

    Ray Mercer (18-0)

    Carl Williams (16-0)

    David Bey (14-0)

    Marvis Frazier (10-0)

    Scott Frank (20-0)

    Tim Witherspoon (15-0)

    Gerry Cooney (25-0)

    Renaldo Snipes (22-0)

    Leroy Jones (24-0)

    Ossie Ocasio (13-0)

    Kevin Isaac (2-0)

    Wlad's opposition: 246-0 combined

    Holmes' opposition: 179-0 combined

    So I guess Wlad wins.

Sure it takes two, Lyle, but Wlad's the champion, the heftier portion of the blame falls on him. Same with Floyd when he coasts to victory or knocks out Ortiz with a cheap shot. They're the million dollar shot callers.

I have to agree. Floyd is boring as fuck, but at least he has the undefeated streak and the cocky personality that draws people in. Wlad has none of that to intrigue people, and people watch the HW division to see action, and when the most eyes are on him he just doesn't provide action.
