No matter how much money Floyd makes he will forever be asked why he did not fight Manny. He will take that question until he dies.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Floyd will answer that he gave Manny every opportunity to take the fight with the one provision that Manny be clean for their fight and prove it by being tested for drugs in advance of the fight.
The real question is why Manny turned down $50 million if he was a clean fighter.
You're right, all that matters in the end is that the fight didn't happen. Would have been the defining fight of the generation, but it didn't happen, and even if they do fight it will never have the same impact it would have back in 2008-2011.
Right or wrong, Floyd is the more powerful guy (as well as the less likeable guy), and people will say that he should have done more to make the fight happen.
I think the early consensus was that since Floyd was demanding a stipulation that wasn't typical of your standard boxing match, that he was being the unreasonable party and was therefore at fault for the fight not happening. People don't care who's using what, they just want to see the fight happen.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
