    I think Ward beats him pretty bad. Hop was old and gassed in his fight vs Joe, n would have dominated him prime vs prime. Ward does the same. Makes it ugly with some grappling if he needs to, but beats Joe pretty convincingly.

    Joe was well past his prime when he fought Hopkins and had biscuits for bones in his hands. Take the pre hand issues Calzaghe and the Hopkins fight isn't even close (at that stage of Hopkins career).

    Joe was an exceptional champion. Ward was quality too. Split decision victory for Joe baeed on work rate and effective aggression.
