I'd venture a guess at a 12 round Calzaghe SD.

I'd pick Calzaghe because he adapted to every style he fought and over came it, and while no one else can figure out wards holding and

destroying the enjoyment of a fight tactics, I believe Calzaghe would have.
Agree with the above , although it could go either way. One for the purists, I think it would've been a bit of a chess match.
I don't think it would have been pretty. It would have been very similar to Hopkins. I doubt Ward would live with Joes pace. He slows in the last few rounds and gets caught as he did against Bika. Joe wasn't just work rate. He was tough, took a very good shot was adaptable and believe it or not could punch.
the difference with bika is that bika had power that ward had to be aware of. joe didnt punch with force very often.

Ward gets butchered. He'd think he was fighting a crowd.

Ok butchered may have been a little harsh. He has a little better chance at beating Joe at 168 as he would have at beating Roy at that weight. Its no secret that I'm a huge Cal fan and think Ward somewhat a self inflated wind bag so the bias card would be a good card to play I suppose but not a good bluff. The fight could end ugly but Ward would not be getting a myopic ref over the use of the head. Still, because of Wards switch hitting on the fly and Joes style from the left wing it could easily end on an unintentional noggin knocker. Chances are though, Joe would not be stationary long enough for the intentional ones to work as they did with Kessler. That is, the same Kessler who lost his heart against Joe Calzaghe.

Just like Hopkins hed realise that the mugging tactics wont work. Would he resort to crawling around on the floor to get a rest? Maybe not

Cazlaghe was 35 going on 36 when he fought Hopkins how the fuck was he prime never got this. Also his hands were kinda gone as well i mean could not punch anymore by the time that fight happen. I think Cal can get a ugly sd and i have no interest in the fight fucking look so bad worst then Hopkins fight and that was just fucking bad. Ward a big disappointment man fucking guy has not fought anyone in like ever i mean his best win is Calzaghe's left overs. I mean at least Cazlaghe fought when he had a belt not all great but he would defend the fucking thing.
