Senior did look a tool in the ring. I am beginning to think he wants the limelight. Junior should tell him to sit in the crowd.

Being on a British forum they are relevant you massive Canadian tool.
Hey, if your country gets this excited about two guys who aren't even top 20 in their divisions, good for you guys.

Relevant? Yeah, I guess if have nothing else to hang onto. I'm not really convinced that GGG, Cotto, Quillin, or hell, even Jermain Taylor are shaking in their boots because of these two bums.
We have a very deep love and historic link with prizefighting in this country and the fact that you do not understand this shows that obviously in your own country, you do not. What kind of shallow and vacuous fan of a sport is only interested in the top echelon of fighters at world level? The Lonsdale, Common wealth and European belts are as interesting and valid reasons to match opponents as any of the other "world" trinkets and a case could be made to say that the British Lonsdale Belt outstrips in importance even these. Yesterday in successfully defending (and thereby winning the right to own) the Lonsdale belt for the third time Saunders made History in becoming the first traveller (gypsy) fighter to do so. Bearing in mind the huge part travelling booth and other bare knuckle fighters played in establishing the sport then that is a pretty significant event. Add to the mix the brash, cocky but untested son of an even more arrogant and eccentric former world class fighter and it is not difficult to see the appeal.

If you are so enamoured by America that you really think Quillen and Taylor are leagues above these two then you are simply deluded and grasping for reasons to once again slag off and dismiss this country. Calling them bums just confirms your ignorance.

You are right it's not helping his son. He is not terrible but he hardly needs even more pressure at this early stage of his career, and with his stupid statements and peacock strutting, his old man has piled it on him.

Agreed. I have a soft spot for dad but he isn't helping. It was all a bit silly and it seems to have rubbed off.

I think I had it 7-5 for BJS but remember saying the draw is quite possible. But I was quite drunk.
I don't think it's a stretch to score it for Eubank.

If Eubank gets his head down from here, works hard, stops the posturing and silly pot shots I'd back him to win in a rematch.

Despite the BBC's complete lack of attention to boxing which borders on disgraceful Ben Dirs is someone that usually hits the right tone - whilst not claiming to be well versed in the technical nuances. This article is a pretty fair summary of where Eubank finds himself.

I think billy joe done very well.

I would love to see the compubox numbers.

8-4 or 7-5 to billy joe.

We know that eubank jr is green but his corner were appalling and should have told him to get his finger out early.

All this jumping ken and ryu uppercuts and bending down so low he kissed the floor was pathetic.

Eubank jr was out smarted and outboxed and the rematch will be the same or worse if billy joe lays of the beers!

The real losers are eubank sr team who watched the wrong fight and gave jr these taxi drivers as opposition.

Regardless of whether you like billy joe or not the better boxer beats the better fighter everyday and his elusive movements frustated jr to a new degree and they both gassed in the last round but stood on their feet until the end..

Said 1st half of the fight. Lol I must be watching a completly different fight there was not 1 single round in that fight Saunders dominated or gave out a boxing lesson. Honestly can't believe the hype this guys getting very average fighter highly doubt he beats any world class fighter out there unless there way over the hill.

No it was all a brilliant masterplan, Eubank snr was taking the pressure of Jr by hogging the limelight, it was nothing to do with him trying to relive past glories through his son.

I feel sorry for Jr because it was obvious he was being handled badly.

I think Eubank could have won and I'd back him in a rematch, but he didn't start fighting til round 6.
In that regard it was a lesson. Lesson being to win rounds you have to throw punches.
By the way the article is positive about Eubank mostly. Basically saying he is green, didn't start fighting til round 6, had his dad clowning around yet still nearly got the win against a more experienced guy.

I've just watched it and I have to say Eubank should have fought from round 1 , instead of being macho , he was making a point that BJS wasn't hurting him .
I don't rate BJS at all , but I did smile when the scorecards where announced because both Eubank SR and JR are both tiresome cunts.
Put both in with GGG on the same night for me .
