I enjoyed it. I find that many people have an unrealistic expectation. Its as if they have to see a Foty every week or the cards were shit. Even the announcers in the Crawford fight kept up with the ko talk right up to the last 15 seconds of the fight. Once again, if there is no ko, many believe its a failure. The promoters routinely put on complete mismatches in order to satisfy the cravings of this lowest common denominator.
I dont mind saying that I was really impressed with Fury. The guy is just a natural fighter. He looked like he'd been fighting southpaw his whole life. And he was shoulder rolling. And lets face it, its not all that hard to stand out in this sad division. Fury has definitely improved as a fighter and I think he will be tough for anyone to handle at this point.
Eubank has nothing to be ashamed about. I think if he could do it all over again, he would add a little higher quality of fighter to his win list before he took on Saunders. Its ok to be a slow starter when its only a matter of time until you get the guy out of there and everybody in the building knows it including the opponent. Its quite another to pace yourself properly when you are in with a peer.
Jr seemed to fight Saunders using the same strategy he uses to fight Joe Palooka. The fight reminded me somewhat of Cotto/Mosley. Shane waited to long. Had that fight been 15 I think Shane would have won and I think the same thing concerning Jr. It happened to a seasoned pro so its not a big deal that it happened to a kid with no experience at that level. He never failed. He gained some knowledge that he will now never lose. That loss should be a guide for him for the rest of his career.
I just cant get over his old man entering the ring and saying the things he was saying and disrupting the corner. They need to fix that pronto. That to me is a bigger problem then anything technical with the kid.
On this side of the Ocean Crawford looked unreal and he looked just as comfortable as a southpaw as Fury did.
Cheers
