Valero just looked like S*** in the fights I'd seen him in, I'd always heard that he was a technically good fighter from Fischer, haven't really seen it yet.

I haven't seen the whole fight, I did watch the third round on youtube, and I guess he looked a little more technically sound than he did before but it was a round he got dominated and dropped pretty hard.

Slow as hell though.

Fischer is right about one thing, that crowd was insane, especially after the knockdown.

That's the thing,in sparring,Valero looks awesome, trult truly awesome! I have seen him spar with Morales at least 3 times and he just out works, out hustles Morales, uses beautiful combinations and countering ans just looks awesome, heck even Morales said he hits hard with both hands.

However, come fight night,Valero turns into some type of beast,he loses control, and just looks wild, powerful and sloppy. His career is in his own control,he can box like he does in sparring,or he can be this wildman and get knocked out somewhere down the line.If he boxed like he did in sparring,he would have KTFO Mosquera waaaay earlier,he works head and body beautifully in sparring.

And I disagree,I don't think he is that slow, when he puts the combos together they are at a decent speed. HowevermI can see where you guys are coming from on this and he is still unproven although he has answered questions about whether he can take a punch and his stamina.

Was it just me or was the fight SOOOOO overhyped?! I heard JLC-Chico 1,it was nowhere near that good, exciting but not of that ilk.
That fight was definitely over-hyped. I remember hearing things like "best fight ever" etc. It was a very good fight imo, but I also think Valero controlled the tempo for 85% of it and once Mosquera stopped countering effectively it was over. Valero had absolutly NO defense...he took some big shots and didn't even seem to notice (even that knockdown the the 3rd..he just hopped back up)

I like the Pac-like physique, stamina, power, chin looks good, basically he's real high up in every physical attribute. But you gotta worry about him tossing out the defense and skill he has and just looking for the quick, impressive KO. He's too young and has too much power and it seems like that's all he will rely on unless he gets to using some defense/fundamentals. It seems likehe already considers himself the alpha-male and feels no need for improvment (thats the impression i got from the article)

By the way I dont think he looks slow either. I wouldnt say he's fast, but he has good speed in his combos and he throws every punch with a lot of force
