I thought this will be his first time using 10 ounce?

No, Sharmba was the first time using 10 oz. And obviously those weren't 8 oz. gloves he had on vs. Zab.

CC and apologies, Hairdoo. You've got it right. I got confused because I'd read in The Ring that the previous rule required 10 oz. gloves from 147 on up, and the Nevada Athletic Commission page states at one place that the previous rule required fighters from 147 and up to wear 10 oz. gloves. But that page also (more) explicitly states elsewhere that the 10 oz. requirement actually only applied to fighters of above 147 lbs. So this will indeed be Floyd's (and Baldo's) first fight with the 10 oz. gloves.

I don't think PBF could KO Baldomir even with 8 oz's anyway though.

Weights not teh be all and end off of gloves though... I have 16OZ bag gloves and 16oz sparring gloves... I would rather be hit with the 160z sparring gloves than the bag gloves... they are solid...

I'd rather get hit with 10/12oz competition gloves than I would with these bag gloves...

LOL yeah I think they made by Fairtex , Fairfax, something like that, they are big. LMFAO ! but when you train with those and get good speed with them, when you put on the the little 12.oz gloves, your punches just zoom out there like lighting. LOL

I used to just train in bag mitts, must of been about 4Oz... if that, got some at the start of last season... took me a few weeks to perform as well with the 16Oz on as I did with the mitts but when you put the 10s or 12s on it feels like the gloves aren't there...

yeah sparring with these gloves allows me to put mustard on the shots without damaging my sparring partner too bad. or them damage me.

I have a real nie pair of 16 Oz sparring ones, padded so you don't hurt your sparring partner like even lighter shots can with 10 ouncers on but small enough so you don't rely on covering your face with giant pillows for defence and you can work on small openings.
