A long range hook is a hook with an elbow bend larger than 90 degrees, think Tommy Morrison he loved to throw long hooks as did Sugar Ray Robinson. Like a right angled hook the arm stays rigid at the elbow and stays in place.
With a right cross however the arm "unravels" much like it does with a straight right or a jab. (or at least as far as I know)
Does a long range uppercut unravel like a cross or does the elbow stay locked in position from start to finish?
Long range cross is more like a hook
Uppercut is uppercut
There is no way you can interchange the technique.
