What sets Brand apart for me though is that he has taken the time to read his Chomsky, to get involved in local issues, to show that he cares.

Russell Brand is really just one of us and he had no need to ever get involved with local concerns or develop a politics of reason. I watched him on Question Time and was almost in tears at the way he restrained himself with a premeditated audience and yet another media agenda to try and belittle him. However, he maintained his cool and he expressed his points with an integrity found nowhere else on the panel. He made Farage look like a dinosaur.

Sure, he resorted to insults and looked at Farage as though he is evil, but Farage was very telling in going nowhere near the City of London (centre of all global evil) which only received praise. Then the clap trap from others about the NHS and privatisation. It effectively has been privatised with PFI initiatives and new contracts handed out daily. The BBC will not tell the truth and shows like Question Time are another example of the antiquated and agenda driven purpose of the BBC. Having Brand on is meant to 'fill gaps', but if Brand is for real, maybe they are playing a dangerous game. Th same can be said of Farage. Farage versus Brand says it all about the BBC and the UK.....what a travesty.

Personally, I applaud Russell Brand. Though I don't find him funny, I don't need to be entertained by him. What I think people need is someone with a sense of decency sticking up for them and if Brand is willing to get up there in front of a loaded audience and put himself through it, then full credit to the man. Brand is right. There is nobody to vote for and the revolution will come from beyond. The system itself is rot. His Trews videos are very good too and along with Russia Today is where people should be heading for their news. The mainstream is dead. God, condemn the Queen.
Cheers, my friend, glad you are here again.
Russel Brand gets on every last one of my nerves. he annoys me nearly as much as Jim Carey.

I was having this very same discussion with an ex colleague of mine yesterday. He's gone all Citizen Smith over the last 2 years, constantly ranting about something, generally the BBC. He hates Brand too so was pleased as punch when he apparently got made a mug of on QT, he cant see the hypocrisy in his argument.

He was slating Brand for his New Era protest too, he was upset at Brand paying rent to a tax dodging landlord whilst taking up the good fight with the trash. My mate is an IT tech like me but is also a part time plastic lord of the manor looking after a country estate with his wife when the owner and confirmed tax dodger fucks off over seas every five minute. He also cant see the hypocrisy in that one either. I cant blame him, full size snooker table and a heated indoor swimming pool, I'd chuck my principles out the window as I approached the secure gates, long before heading down the sweeping driveway.

I can take him or leave him myself. He can be engaging when he wants to be but generally chooses to play up to the over the top caricature of himself. I agree with his underlying point, politicians wont fix our problems, it's not in their best interests too. I'll leave the prophesising to Miles because I don't know how exactly it will happen but we have to fix our own problems by saying no, we wont take it any more.

Protesting isn't something exclusively reserved for the unwashed dreadlocked lentil eating brigade sitting around a camp fire singing give peace a chance. If a mega rich celebrity wants to take time out from banging models to take to the streets for something he believes in, even if he isn't directly affected himself then good on him.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

What I dislike with the Brands of this World and the other loveys, is there condescending manner
in which they jump on the moral band wagon.!
Most people do things to suit themselves, tax evasion etc hiding there money away most people
are hypocrites, say one thing and do the complete opposite.
Millionaires can lord it over the peasants, some do others don't yes privately educated posh boys
rubbing shoulders, with the working classes what bunch of A holes.
Sorry to say it but the TV personality thing, is old hat look at Bob Geldof he was broke then after
telling people to dig deep into there pocket, feed the World.
Bobby Boy is worth about 60 plus million,!!!!!!!!!!! strange but true a bunch of condescending bloody
    idiots.
