My serious condolences to all Aussies. Some here describe this as blowback from coalition moves in the middle east. That is a disgusting thought in my mind. intentionally targeting people trying to get a coffee on their way to work can not be justified in anyway shape or form. Isis Crucifies Christians, beheaded peace workers and has an ugly flag to boot. If groups such as this were willing to sit down and discuss peace and we were refusing to do so an argument could be made. Isis and there followers said they will not rest until Israel is gone, their flag flies over the White house and St. Peter's in the Vatican and the world has submitted to Islam. To blame the US or any other country for this kind of mind set that has been in the Middle East for thousands of years is crazy. We have only been around for a few hundred years. When Isis encourages its followers to kill non Muslims where ever they are found goes beyond any rational revenge or defense. They kill Muslims who are not as radical and refuse to accept there agenda. Afghanistan gave safe haven and training camps to those who wish to destroy the west. It is pointless for me to go on as many have made up there minds that the US is responsible for two thousand years of Muslim hatred but if the middle east has its way there will be no Chistians, Jews, Zoastrians or any other non Muslims. They are not interested in deporting these people, they want and have been committing genocide for years. We are not stupid in the US, many in Europe and others will continue to blame us even though there interference in the middle east predates ours by hundreds of years. It is none of these countries fault,it is the radical and hypocritical actions of middle eastern governments ands radical sects within and it will not be stopping anytime soon. In Bosnia we went in to defend Muslims, in Afghanistan we try to protect the populate against radical elements within and in Iraq we spend Billions trying to rebuild the country. We are not perfect, but we have been giving Egypt any many other countries billions a year with the hope of maintaining some type of peace over there. I kind of wish it was all our fault, if the fault lay with one entity, it would probably be much easier to bring about some kind of remedy. In most of these middle eastern countries it is illegal to protest against regimes in power but all these governments encourage the populace to protest the US. Much easier to place the blame on an external entity than internal where change could start.
Once again, very sorry to see this happening in Australia, all the Aussie members I've talked to hear seem like very decent people. God Bless.

They should put some serious effort into taking a few of these easily manipulated shit bags and try to flip them. Another way of fire with fire maybe but personally I've had enough and can only feel for the innocents put at the knifes edge strictly because of the Country born into or religion followed. The have escalated it to the point of no return with these actions are those of madmen who have already decided to die. You simply forfeit all reason and peace easy approach when you dismember children, when you behead aid workers and then put the body on sale for the highest bidder, and when you frankly declare war on me. Fuck them and if given the opportunity I would have no problem with seeing someone under the Isis banner having his head disappear into a red cloud. I'll pop some fookin popcorn.

The guy was an Iranian Shi' ite nutter. Isis continue to kill Iranian sh'ites. It's easy to put two and two together and get five but it seems he was just another scummy cunt who latched onto the ideology of those who would not have thought twice about beheading him.
I noticed when the Commandos went in they let all the hostages run past and some poor middle eastern bearded guy who was unfortunate enough to look vaguely like the hostage taker, had the sense to not only raise his hands but lie down on the floor. I bet he was as frightened then as in any point during the ordeal. Seems the authorities acted quickly, and efficiently with appropriate deadly force when faced with no alternative.
Guy could have had a bomb set or anything.30 seconds and it was all over.
RIP the two victims and speedy recovery to those injured.

Good they need to do so.
The media also need to focus on them doing it.
They are not at the moment here.
I would have thought a cleric or Mullah would have offered himself up and gone in there to chat with the cunt.
Didnt hear that or see it on the coverage though.
Got a feeling the cops could of handled this other ways instead of waiting for the inevitable.
Maybe they tried getting someone in there earlydont know.
This cunt had priors and was out on bail and the cops recon he was known to them and was unstable. (what do you do)? The law is the law,its for everyone,I wonder what his prior convictions were?

There is live footage in Martins square on the coverage here at the moment. Three cops line the square and people are going in one at a time past the cop line placing flowers down, there are thousands, I havent seen anyone turn up in a burka or in Muslim robes as yet, but would be interesting and it should be done and soon.

I think many are condemning it Al. Greenbeanz probably found those links showing examples within about 1 minute.
Also, to say that those not condemning it agree with it is too simplistic. Fear must be a huge factor in keeping quiet. Look what these scum do to people that don't follow them.
People in Iraq don't like ISIS. But they aren't exactly able to protest publicly as they risk losing their heads.
Also, don't forget, to point out the obvious, it is mostly Muslims that they are killing in Iraq and Syria. And it is Kurds (Muslims) that are fighting them.
So considering that it is Muslims that are doing most of the fighting against ISIS it's clear that most Muslims do not support them.
I know this incident is different as it seems to be a lone nut, but this thread seems to have moved to talk generally about the current situation with extremism, hence my post.

I know, Andre. It seems then that this guy was a crazy, but that doesn't mean that there wasn't some logic to his reasoning. It is shitty behavior to be holding innocent people hostage, but it is shitty behavior aplenty in an age of complete insanity. Two wrongs do not make a right, but one has to try and understand it. I can just see where extremism comes from and unfortunately we have the crazies at the helm on our part who inflict a lot more carnage daily and I can see more doubling down as a response. Three wrongs won't make it more right either. It's a tragedy, it really is.

Yep now we got power crazy fuckers on both sides, now both using the other side as an excuse to remain in power get more funds and go all out for even more.
There are billions of us who just want peace and yet we cant seem to be able to put an end to the well armed insane who play war games etc with real people, who we finance through taxes etc.I get it but theres not much in answers, maybe it will all get played out at our ultimate expense.
We are so many if we just got together and decided to not buy fuel from one company at all for a week,we would cause a price war and all pump prices would tumble in it. Thats the power we have on mass but dont use it.

True, all sides are equally crazy. Now the Taliban stepping it up too and I am sure a good cue to drone Pakistan once again. Around and around in circles. Maybe I'm wrong, but these people in charge don't seem very bright, they just repeat and repeat the same mistakes hoping it will go better each time. The West just needs a few moustaches at the top and the circle is complete.

The Taliban have just killed 126 in a Pakistan school. At least 100 of which were children. They have claimed it was a revenge attack for a Pakistani army attack against the Taliban in Warziristan. No mention of the west. People capable of such things can never come up with excuses or justification for such cowardly barbarity. It's 2014 and there is a world of difference between purposeful and accidental killing, however hard that may be to reconcile with the oversimplified meme like explanations pedalled by those who do nothing but spread fear. That's both ends, Farrage and Alex Jones.
