Sad and moving. I really liked Johnny.


I was once at the Hall many years ago with my wife and Johnny was there. A kid in a wheel chair wanted his photo taken with Johnny but Johnny’s publicist (or whatever) said “come on Johnny, we have a plane to catch.” Johnny replied, f—k the plane: and proceed to get that photo done. We could not believe it with our own eyes. It was like something out of a movie.
After that, I always had a great fondness for him and when he was robbed in his second fight with Ayala, I will never forget the pain on his face. I suffered with him on that.
I put it in one of my books under “The memory Bank.”
