Duran had trouble with Tommy Hearns......Forrest was not Hearns, tall yes, decent power, but nothing in the Hearns line of power
There is no comp between the 2. Manos de Piedra knocks his ass out in 7.
I thought this was a joke at first due to all the hypothetical matchups floating around. I now know that it wasn't.
Duran is taken from the ring in cuffs AND CHARGED WITH MURDER

Who did Duran KO at welter?
Whereas Mayorga was hit on the chin flush plenty of times by a who's who of the biggest punchers of the 2000's. Often free shots.
When he gave a shit he could take 12 rounds of it without flinching in the Forrest rematch.
How many other welter/middles could afford to offer and take 3 consecutive left hooks off of Trinidad and immediately chase and knock Trididad down?
I think the aura and myth around Duran has far surpassed his ability, and I say that as a Duran fan. Duran was great, but people look at him as this unstoppable killing machine that he really wasn't. He was a murderous LW but was never a big puncher at WW or above, we saw him get outclassed in numerous fights and even drop fights to much lesser opposition than Vernon Forrest (Sims, Laing).
David Lemieux = Future MW Champ and P4P King
I don't think it matters who he ko'd at 147. He was only there for a short time but you have to take a lot more into this hypothetical then a ko % at welter. Its crazy to even think that the same crude wild swinging bull dog that intimidated Viper would somehow beat the Duran that beat Leonard.
Not only did Mayorga lead with his face but he would have thought he was fighting a flash mob. The accumulation of pin point punches over the course of the fight would have put Mayorga in a coma. If he woke up, he would speak of the dreams he had of being gang raped by a school of piranha.
Ross I just don't see him getting through this off his back. Even if he had Galivans chin.
