The 6' 0" 205 lb. bomber, had a record of 39-2-0 {39 KO's}. The Fight Promoters
listed Earnie with having a record of 42-2-0 {42 KO's} and with running a
Knockout Streak of '25'.
Despite the impressive 'KO Record', the Boxing Pundits were not completely
convinced with Earnie's talents, as he was not listed in the World Top 10 ratings.
Vicente Rondon {Age; 34 years, 0 months} was the former WBA Light-Heavyweight
Champion {as early as April 7, 1972} only 4 1/2 months earlier.
The Venezuelan brought in a record of 37-7-1 with {21 KO's}. But the 6' 3" tall banger
had lost '2' straight by Knockout.
* April 7, 1972 ...... L KO 2 > Bob Foster
* July 10, 1972 ..... L KO 2 > Ron Lyle
Still, the Boxing Pundits were convinced that Vicente could give Earnie all sorts of trouble,
if he could get by the first 2-Rounds and avoid Earnie's big right-hand.
