He would have gone the different route and played the peoples Golden Boy instead of having to play the villain. Both options are profitable.
I think if you're brought to the professional ranks with a silver spoon in your mouth, you might as well use it.
I prefer the villain because it's funnier.

He never had the personality to be a Sugar Ray Leonard. There's no way Floyd could have kept up the Mr. Nice Guy act. It worked out for him though, he's made more money than anyone in the history of the sport so he's done something right.

He would have melted it down into a watch and gave it to one of his King kong bundy size body guards. Any asshole who terms premier network money and investment a 'slave' contract while wearing platinum could care less.
