"17 year-old Panamanian Shocks Tony 'Pee Wee' Stokes By Knockout In 2"
Lanky 17 year-old - Hector Carrasquilla {Panama} scored a major upset and
blasted out highly-regarded New York Super-Bantamweight - Tony Stokes in
just 2 Rounds.
The 22 year-old New Yorker came in with a record of 9-1-1 {6 KO's} and with
a #17 WBA-ranking in the 'newly instituted' Super-Bantamweight Division.
'Pee Wee' at 121 lbs., was expected to have an easy time with the touted,
but untested Panamanian who arrived with an impressive 8-0-0 {8 KO's} record.
Things got off well for Stokes, as he used his fast-hands and speedy footwork
to edge out the equally-fast and hard-hitting teenager during an extremely
fast-paced Round 1.
In Round 2, the pattern remained the same, as both quick-fisted boxers unleashed
their fast fists.
The action was roaring at Center-Ring, as both young boxers fired away with
blazing hand-speed.
Suddenly at the {1:50 Mark}, Carrasquilla {122 lbs.} caught Stokes with a left-hook
to the jaw, and 'Pee Wee' wobbled as his legs went out from under him.
The young Panamanian charged after Stokes quickly, and unleashed a fast 5-Punch
combination to the head, followed by a solid 'left-right' to the jaw, dropping Stokes
flat on his back.
Referee - Roberto Ramirez then counted out Stokes at 2:12 of Round 2.
