Exactly. Its funny because all of the Haymon fighters call everyone out and yet...

Boxing is entering a weird phase. Haymon has taken hit and dont get hit to an all new level. Either match people against those who don't hit back or don't fight. I bet he opens his first big show with 8 of his disciples against 8 no hopers and it will break records because of the event and the anticipation of it rather then the quality on the field. Of course the network and Haymon will run with that.
From what we've seen, Haymon only matches his fighters with non-Haymon threats if the non-Haymon fighter forces the mandatory, a la GRJ/Loma. That's why I doubt Matthysse fights Provo or Santa Cruz faces Rigo.
Its a shame "hoarding" is off the air. Instead of the cat lady or Billy the cardboard collector they could do Al the boxing pawn artist.

At least Arum matched in house as did King. I think we may be in for some short term pain but the pressure for him to match his own guys either against each other or a real threat will start to get immense. Add to that the two boxing gods are going to retire soon. This market is going to change. My only hope is that mediocrity does not become the new normal.

I would welcome the end of ppv.
