To me, the fight is no longer for the fans, it's for Manny, Floyd, Las Vegas, and the promotion companies. This fight needed to happen in 2009-2011, and it didn't. In 2009 you had two guys in the prime of their careers, the top two p4p greats of our generation who were head and shoulders above everyone else, and the fight never happened. That fight died when JMM landed that KO blow. You can't get that back, the window of opportunity is gone. Now it's 2015, both guys are well past it and on the way out of the sport, and they've conned the public into believing that they're going to get the fight that never happened 5 years ago. We're not getting that fight, we're getting a consolation prize. They'd be crazy not to cash in on this farce.
I agree. Since it is possible I decided to re-watch eaches last fight. I only remembered the score of the Floyd/Maidana fight. I had forgotten how shit he looked. His legs are useless now. That's why he had to take 3/4 steps back because it took that long to get his legs back under him. I've long said Floyd schools him but if he can't get his legs back under himself to counter I'm questioning his ability to win. I think now his chance lies in pumping the jab and pressing forward with straight rights. For the first time ever I'm wavering on this fight. But then Floyd must know he was crap in that fight, he even said so. Last time he looked so shit he came back beautifully so I suppose I shouldn't waiver. But I am.
