    I think Duran once said De Jesus was one of the few opponents he really respected. De Jesus dropped him a couple of times, I think, including a fight De Jesus actually won. That was extremely rare during Duran's heyday. Still... Duran's penchant for not giving his opponents their due early on was pretty grating on the nerves.

    De Jesus was extremely fast and surprised Duran with the knock downs. Very underrated fighter.
