So I went to bed last night like a kid on Christmas Eve being told "if you've been a good boy, Santa will come with lots of presents."
I was expecting to wake up to finally hear what we've all been waiting for, but guess what....... Santa didn't come! WHY? did I do something Wrong?
This only means one thing . we should all resign ourselves to the fact that Floyd v Pac will NEVER happen.
I don't know who's fault it is, and quite frankly I don't fucking care. All I know is that a fight that had to happen isn't going to happen and that can only be bad for the sport. it's almost making these guys bigger than the sport, and that is a massive problem.
My personal opinion is that this the powers that be should've insisted on the fight and there should've been no choice in the matter. Now , as far as I'm concerned , both these fighters should retire and give some other guys a chance to revive boxing because nobody wants to see Floyd or Pac fight anyone except each other.

I blame Floyd Mayweather more than anybody else for this charade this fiasco is beyond belief these fighters no longer have one single ounce of credibility in anybody's eyes there used to be a day when boxers fought for the sheer love and joy of the sport of boxing when I think of Rocky Marciano when I think of Floyd Patterson when I think of George Foreman and all his tough fights with guys like Ron Lyle when I think of Sonny Liston when I think of these great fighters for example Jack Dempsey for example fireman Jim Flynn these guys used to fight every 3 weeks every 4 weeks sometimes every week Archie Moore one time had 27 fights in one calendar year in each fight he made no more than $350 Floyd Mayweather is a sorry sack of s*** a complete embarrassment and insult to the sport of boxing and to all athletes in general Floyd Mayweather should retire I agree with Primo Carnera above I never want to hear this sorry sack of s**** name again

its not a few days, this has been going on for 5-6 years! what's supposed to change in the next few days? I can't believe that they will announce the biggest money fight in history with only 12 weeks to go. and I can't believe that either fighter is going to sign up for the biggest fight of their career with only 12 weeks to go.
I know that camp only has to be 8 weeks, but even so, you have to get your head round it. I believe the time has come to let it go. For the record, I don't blame any one particular side or party, more the system, that they have been allowed not to fight each other for so long.
Too many people are having their say in the sport , thinking they are the most important, from governing bodies to fighters, to managers, to promoters, to media.
What they have to realise is that the most important people in the sport are THE FANS!
btw, all those bullshit media and pundits that said there would be an announcement at the Superbowl are all quiet now aren't they!

You all are going on "it should have been announced yesterday" if they did nobody talks about it now after that Super Bowl. Announce it Wednesday and it is the only thing to talk about.

Perhaps it is gone. If it is everyone is guilty but nobody more than HBO. Showtime said "same deal as 2002" and HBO says no. There is no reason that HBO can't agree to the same deal.

There's obviously still things going on in the background, remember that this situation is not just a matter of negotiating Manny and Floyd, there's also a HUGE network negotiation that needs to happen between rival promotional companies as well as HBO and Showtime. There's a lot of shit that needs to be sorted out besides Manny and Floyd agreeing to fight. It'll get made though, there's way too much money for it not to. My guess is HBO and Showtime are still fighting over the % of promotional rights and PPV revenue.

Sure there is. Believe or not the guy (Ken Hershman) who was heading showtime sports before (1992-2011) is heading HBO's boxing now (2012-present). Somehow it must look Crappier from the HBO side.

They took the deal the first time because they knew Lennox wasn't going to lose to a washed up Tyson. This time around the shoe is on the other foot and they have the long shot fighter.

Word is HBO and Showtime have agreed. I can't confirm of course. But it really sounds like this is a situation where they will wait for the Super Bowl talk to die down then make an announcement. If it takes another week so what? Just make the fight, there is nothing wrong with fighting in late May if it has to change, just make the fight.

And I've heard this argument that they need time to promote, that's nonsense it's had 5 years of promotion. Just make the fight. I've never heard anyone say "I did know the fight was happening until I saw a media tour visited my city" or "I wasn't going to buy the fight until the media tour came to my city". Just make the fight
