This is undoubtedly true. Weed affects people differently. I've seen people floored by quite innocuous stuff and really potent stuff just bouncing off others. And you can get three experienced stoners all trying something new and coming up with three different opinions.

I had a run in with some of the fake weed, "Spice" "K2" whatever that shit is.....I guess I had an allergic reaction or something but I haven't touched it since then. I was pretty much out of commission for 2 days with panic attack like symptoms, chills, and sweats it was like a nightmare....all I did was take some Benadryl and try to stay calm about it and eventually it wore off, but I swore off that fake shit IMMEDIATELY!

The fake stuff is dangerous because you smoke it thinking "oh this will be just like pot" noooooope it'll take you to level 10 of 10 on the high scale and then crank it up to 20. It was novel to try at first but once I had that episode I said NEVER AGAIN.

Pot is easier to control, if you're "too high" you just put the shades on, play some music, and relax because you'll come down after a while.

Far and away the best weed I ever smoked. I lament for it at times. Nothing touches Kush generally but purple kush is the best grass on the planet period including all its Indica cousins. I get a kick out of all these names today and the supposed weed connoisseurs that work at these head shops try and explain the difference.I wish I could get as stoned as they say lol. Purple kush used to come here quite regular but I think all the hydroponics moved weed like anything else to quantity over quality and there are some strains that simply need the soil. I've had water fed Purple kush and its just not the same thing. Its just one of those plants that needs the longer season and imo the natural one.

It's ALWAYS hilarious when someone tries to recapture their wild and crazy rebellious years......especially if they never had any rebellious years.

I'm by NO means an outright stoner, pothead, or anything like that, I keep everything (bar what I've posted quasi-anonymously on here) rather mums the word. I do enjoy getting drunk and that's more socially acceptable to say, but getting stoned is great, if anything it's helped me with any kind of anxiety and gets me to relax a bit....there are some times I smoke and I can get a little more anxious but that typically passes without much issue as if I feel that way I just stop smoking.

As for Maureen Dowd's article....it's fucking hilarious and it's typical of all those who oppose legalization. #1 She ate waaaaaaay too much #2 Eating when you don't typically get high is idiotic and #3 SMOKE don't eat for the first time. If you compare what Dowd did to drinking instead of slowly sipping beers and feeling the buzz gradually come on she did some shots and a beer bong one right after the other and the buzz grew into this huge wave that wiped her out all at once....it's irresponsible and frankly as fucking old as she is and what era she's from she should have known better.....still hilarious outcome though

I've smoked it pretty much every day for the last 10 years, I have a successful job, good kids, a home etc etc. Not a hint of mental illness of any degree and I'm still motivated to get up and do things everyday.

I smoke it because it helps me sleep and stops my insomnia. I smoke it in private, when kids are in bed of an evening. I don't see what harm that does to anyone.

People who are already a bit crazy might go crazier, but they are already doomed, regardless of whatever drug they choose, I think its the people, not the drug that is the problem.

At least the US is starting to wake up to the benefits, if only the UK would be the same. We have a terrible drinking culture, such a drain on so many state resources. Have you ever seen two pot heads fight or do stuff they really regret, or smash things up? Hardly ever. On drink, its almost guaranteed.
