Let's just say for a moment that you were protecting people against the great 'evil' of Communism, then it is ironic that you have to go back over 60 years to find a positive example of foreign policy. Of course, it was only strategic and the fact that the North remained a dictatorship and the south too became a dictatorship suggests that democratic principles were not very high up on the agenda. Of course it is terrible for any of the UN fighters who died, just as it is terrible that people died in Vietnam or Iraq or any other conflict, but that doesn't avoid the fact that your elite don't care about servicemen or the millions who get slaughtered in these conflicts. That a country can rise from the pits of devastation is not down to your generosity, it is down to the hard work and will of the people who improved themselves and threw off the shackles of oppression.
