If it were up to me.....
Crumble: Sir, I'd like to renew my professional boxing license for an upcoming fight.
Me: Sure thing. What is your professional record thus far?
Crumble: Uhh... 0-30, sir.
(pause)
Me: Okaaaay.... How many of those losses have been by knockout?
Crumble: All 30 of them, sir.
(longer pause)
Me: Uhh... son... have you considered a change in career?
I think in some of these hick states you can get your boxing license in a box of Cheerios. The fact that a guy could get to 0-31 with 31 KO losses mostly in the first round is mind blowing.

Great stuff!
Didn't have the big Pascal-Kov fight so I watched some old stuff: Frazier vs Ellis..again.
Did any of you guys know that Frazier used Ken Norton in sparring? 1st time I listened to the post-fight per Cosell, Frazier said he knew he could beat Ellis because he had the fastest & strongest sparring partners to prepare him and then named Norton.
I use to wonder why Frazier never fought Norton, maybe they were friends?

Frazier and Norton had the same trainer I believe.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Two ton tony galento grew up 3 blocks from me in Orange, NJ. He lived on a little street off Scotland Road called Clinton Place, but it was renamed Tony Galento Blvd. And Two-Ton Plaza is on the corner. İtalian Riviera Foods was still there in 1999 when İ interviewed the son of the owner Salvatore Scafidi who told me his father would sell 6 roast chickens and a big tray of lasagne to Galento every night at midnight during his last 10 days of training before fights.

In the 1980's, I dated this girl who lived down the street from the Martin Luther King center-where some guys used to train to box. One day she jealousy went through my school bag to see if there were any other girls phone numbers- Once convinced I was faithful-she commented on how many Ring magazines I had in my bag.
To that she replied you must like that Bruce guy? Bruce who?
One week later I found out the guy Bruce who lived on the same block as her- fought Sugar Ray Leonard. His name is Bruce Finch. Well I'm sure he fought the best he could.
About a year later, when I was aware boxers trained @ the center I would always run into this tall guy who sometimes had welps or a black eye.
His name is Gerald McCellan. Once he turned pro- he started giving black eyes.
