Manny couldn't bring in a better sparring partner in my opinion, if this report does turn out to be true.

so what. a guy who is a southpaw, is shorter both in size and reach....and who despite his incredible speed and skill has been put on his ass a fair share of times. i love Rigo....but people are fooling themselves thinking he is somehow going to replicate Floyd in sparring.

Not saying he can perfectly replicate Floyd, but in terms of who's out there, I think Rigondeaux is about as good as it can get... who would you suggest that you think is better?

He seems like a good sparring partner for this fight. None is going to be able to mirror Floyd in sparring, but I think Rigo will give Pac many different defensive looks that will have Pac thinking, moving, attacking and reacting in ways that he isn't accustomed. This should give him a better chance of being able to adapt to Floyd's unorthodox styles.

You wont always find a sparring that works on emulating your opponent perfectly. So you bring in different guys for different aspects of their game. In this case, if the above is true, probably to cut off the ring and run down floyd and find his head, and id your holes for counters.

They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I don't see it as a good fit, particularly because Rigo is a southpaw...

But who can REALLY replicate Floyd? Except Broner, and that won't happen and Broner is a few steps behind Floyd, really and truly there is no one else out there...

It might help. Didn't DLH bring in Mosley to mimic PBF's elbow/shoulder style? It helped DLH eliminate a UD to a SD.

Poor judging made it a SD

Broner fights absolutely nothing like Floyd. Oscar and Shane both fight from a conventional guard, would you compare them? How about Wlad and Shane, would you compare them?

I'm sure you see my point, Floyd and Broner use the same defense. That is their only similarity. They employ the defense differently, one is a flat footed fighter, the other a mover, one mostly counter punches, the other hardly ever counter punches, one is an offensive fighter, the other defensive. We could go on and on with the differences.

The point is simple, they do not fight alike.
