Interested to see if Wlad will follow him to the ropes and press advantages or just stand ring center and hold his jab out like he's waiting for falcons to land on it. Jennings is going to need to sucker him.

When you look at Bryant's record, and you look at his amateur career (what little there is of it), you get this picture of just how big of a longshot he is to win against Wlad. Mike Perez could have had a draw vs Jennings had he not been deducted a point in the 12th round. Other than that Jennings has fought Sergei Liakhovich in 2012...the only other fighter to be a true honest to God contender/title holder in the heavyweight division.
Sure Deontay Wilder has a bunch of bums on his record, but Bryant Jennings does as well. He's a good fighter and I want to see him do well, but this is going to get really ugly really quick like. I'm thinking Wlad by KO round 2....not sure how Bryant's chin is, but he's certainly not going to be able to fight his typical fight against Wlad. That showboating and gloating he does with his hands low....yeah that ain't gonna work so good.
I imagine when you have a guy as big, strong and long as Wlad, if he wants to grab you he's going to grab you. It's a timing thing, Muhammad Ali was an expert at timing a clinch and Wlad definitely learned from the Greatest.

I agree, Wlad will be doing whatever he wants.
Hopefully, Jennings will be able to go a few rounds, picking up some valuable experience along the way from one of the best.
I'm sure Jennings isn't fighting for the experience and anything can happen when the big guys get together, so he does have a chance.
Not excited about this fight, I think it will be really easy for Wlad also. Jennings is good and would be even odds with anyone else in the division imo, but he won't have any advantage at all in this one.
Bryant Jennings IS a good boxer, he IS talented, I don't want people thinking that I'm giving him no chance to win the titles off of Wlad to be misinterpreted as "Jennings sucks". I think Jennings has a very good career ahead of him, but he doesn't have the experience, he doesn't have the right skill set to trouble Wlad.
I'm looking forward to the fight because I believe Wlad is still looking to prove his doubters and critics wrong, he was very attack oriented vs Pulev, I don't see much changing for this fight in fact it's pretty much the same game plan.
Agreed, it's puzzling to me that Jennings has even taken this fight right away. I'd love to see him in against Wilder, Fury, Povetkin, etc. Those fights would be winnable for him, give him valuable experience and potentially increase the money he could pull in, all while Wlad gets older.
I don't think the fight was going to get any bigger regardless of what Jennings could do unless he got to Wilder and Fury first and beat them convincingly which let's face it wasn't going to happen as both of those fighters are likewise clinging to their unblemished records and looking to cash in on a big fight for all the marbles vs Wlad. Also there's something to be said about not having a bunch of fights especially ones on film where a boxer can study your style see your weaknesses, and train to exploit those....Jennings' team might be looking to surprise Wlad by showing him something he's not used to, but with Wlad's experience that's damn near impossible because he's seen it all. Maybe it's Jennings' team thinking they fighter is so green he won't know any better than to win.
I think that his people are like "well it's sink or swim time" even if he loses (when Jennings loses actually) it'll have happened early enough in his career where he can rebound from it and get right back on track with 2-3 wins after this fight. Jennings is a well rounded fighter and his power has been developing....it's just everyone that fights against Wlad is doing so with an inferior arsenal of offensive weapons. Wlad has the BEST jab in the division, he has the BEST hook in the division, he has the BEST right cross in the division and the guys on his list don't have the best defenses either.
