I'm trying to imagine descending from 38,000 feet down to six thousand feet in 8 minutes. It is a Rather rapid descent but it is a sort of uniform descent and I believe it was possible to feel the plane descending minute by minute.
that is like 31,000 feet in 8 minutes is like 4000 feet every minute. 4000 feet per minute is quite a rapid drop I would say. I cannot understand how the pilots knowing full well that the plane was dropping for the first minute or for the first two minutes or for the first three or four or five minutes, . why pilots did not decide that they were in an uncontrollable descent and also in a place where the mountains were extremely high with very high peaks. Why didn't the pilots then just turn away off the flight path and try to land the plane somewhere away from the mountains in a safe flat area. This is very confusing.
