i cant see how this wont at least be a FOTY candidate. matthysse should win and needs to fight smart. he shouldnt try to show how tough he is. provo only knows how to go forward. i dont think provo lasts the distance. he may not be down for the count but his face will probably be busted up enough that the doctor will stop the fight.

Agree with everyone , this is going to be a bit of a barnstormer. I'm just leaning towards Matthysse in a Brutal fight that goes all the way, but he will have to box a little bit smart. Could be a split decision though.

Yeah , he might knock him out, but I just think this Provodnikov guy absorbs loads of brutal punishment (and gives some out) and just keeps coming. He's never been stopped yet, but maybe he's never met someone who can bang like Matthysse. gonna be good though.

Absolutely. First fight I'm staying up for in at least 12 months. Can't wait!

I think Prov is gonna put some sort of dent in Matthysse, so it's interesting to see how Matthysse fights back - smart or stupid.

Mathyse might be a little more tactically aware of the two and has the ability to adapt abit better. If he doesn't engage and uses the ring to walk ruslan onto shots that's his best chance. His power vs peterson looks even better now after last weekends fight between lamont & garcia

Having said I do think ruslan is mentally stronger. He will not take a backwards step but after Mathyses loses he's learnt he isn't indestructable. Provo gave tim Bradley the beating of his career and he was a top p4p fighter.

So hard to call but if ruslan doesn't mark up and gets stopped on damage I give him the edge as the man is relentless. Will not be denied
