I don't see this fight on just on the outside. I see it both on the outside and inside, tying up being mostly initiated by Floyd. Manny does hold when he needs to although it's not often.

Floyd actually has an inside game.

Manny doesn't do anything on the inside....he just looks around for the ref to step in.

Manny would get beaten up on the inside anyway, so it wouldn't be to his advantage to try and fight there. Therefore, i don't see how Bayliss gives Mayweather any advantage. He's a strong ref and a good choice.

I would've preferred Steve Smoger if he is still active.

Bayless is the best in the business. Just a few months back before the announced and before the May/Maidana fight we were saying that he would be a prime fit.

Perhaps the May/Maidana fight was one where May would have won anyway, regardless of the ref.

Personally, and we need to look into race neutral ref's for large fights like this. Just like we look for race neutral judges for large fights like this along with country neutral.

    Smoger, perhaps?

    Yep.....
Inside is within reach, not just in a clinch. Pacquiao has excellent power to put hurt on Floyd on the inside. He covers up with both hands and punches his way back outside. On the inside he is swarming his opponent with combinations which is what everyone loves about his game. This is why Floyd will hold or of course time his counter so he won't have to.

The shorter arms actually give Pac more leverage on his punches at an inside distance.mayweather has the edge on technique and Pac has it on leverage and volume.

When Pac covers up he leaves his body exposed.

Floyd will be on those ribs like BBQ sauce.

    Pac has zero inside game.

Everybody that fights Floyd are surprised how strong he is on the inside....Hatton and Mosley(to name a few) both said they were not expecting that from him.

Look how easilly he had Canelo backing out of there.

Beat me to it. I was about to say the same thing. Pac has no inside game at all, so the ref breaking them up will be an advantage to pac and a disadvantage for Floyd, as I believe he will be looking to tie up an smother some of pac's work.
