Brussels job offer.... should I take it?

It is Switzerland that has a high cost of living. Belgium should be OK but I have never been there but is is famous for the chocolate.

The school's apartment will be in Ghent, but the job is in Bruxelles.

Perfect you will be able to visit the European Parliament in your lunch hour. And be surrounded by 100% Immigrants because nobody comes from there

Seriously though Brussels is shit. Literally full of dog shit everywhere, bit grim. Pretty dodgy characters everywhere, broken pavements and not a great place to live.

Fortunately for you, Ghent is quite different and very pretty, a bit like a Dutch town and altogether more agreeable. ( My little brothers girlfriend is from Belgium )

Check out the Cathedral in Brussels though. St Michael and somebody. Beautiful.

I been there twice but each time for just a few hours waiting a train connexion to Paris, La Grand Place was amazing, I had some pomme frites, a few beers, the cobblestonoes were a bit run down and busted up. Got back on the train. The school is apparently "a few blocks " from there, at night it may get a bit dodgy Ive been told. Ghent will be about 1 hour away .......

That is a long commute everyday I hope the transport link is good. Mine is poor having to stand on trains and treated like cattle for the princely sum of £800 a year.

Ive only ever slept in a railway station there timber slat seats back then cold sad . Got arrested there too on another trip came out of Holland shit faced could hardly speak straight and got to see the inside of Brussels police station and they got see my nether regions in a strip search but I had nothing on me so off I went.
