In Darlington 'one or more' candidates has been left off the ballot paper.
    That's fucked then.

The final final final poll just released (not including the exit polls and the actual poll) has Labour narrowing the gap.
Forget your poll of polls etc the best indicator is from https://twitter.com/Election4castUK
    or electionforecast.co.uk

They take all the polls, plus census data, plus historical data and combine it all.

I'd prefer that the Jocks remain part of Britain but with $50 oil there's no way they can afford to pay for all that welfare and Buckfast if they go independent. Not to mention they can't possibly credibly backstop their big financial institutions.

With $50 oil the SNP are like a bunch of demented six form socialists, just insisting that things have to be a certain way when they very obviously can't. I can only see this secession situation getting worse and causing major problems, the biggest being how to let the fuckers back in the union when the English electorate will be absolutely fucking dead against it.

The problem is, the rivalry between north and south is going to drive Scotland further away from the union, rather than bringing it back into the fold. The rabid hunting of Miliband to get him to confirm he won't talk to the SNP by the other major party pretty much tells the Scots that they aren't wanted, and if they do vote for the SNP then nobody wants to listen or treat with the people they elect. That's a shabby state of affairs, and if I was Scottish, that would make me much more likely to want independence.

SNP may win loads of seats and cost Labour the victory.

    Agreed.
It's a fucking joke how the Tories are talking about the Scots.

Clearly the importance of the union to Cameron doesn't extend as far as wanting the Scots to have a say in the policies of the union.
You'd think if you didn't know better that the Scots were a dangerous band of insurgents looking to invade the UK system, rather than actually being part of the UK.

It doesn't matter who wins or who forms the next government. If it's Cameron we get massive budget cuts for the first two years followed by three years where they don't cut and the economy recovers from the first two years of cuts, basically a replay of what just happened over the last five years. The idiots who spent the last five years screaming about the deficit (caused by a recession caused by policies that they fully backed 1997-2008 ) will also give a tax cut mainly to wealthy people which obviously increases the deficit.

Labour will do the same cuts over the first two years/let the economy recover for the next three (this will be the pattern for whoever wins for a long time now, the British establishment wants to slash the welfare state and that's that) but also raise taxes minimally on mainly the top 1%.

So take your pick. Basically the same whoever wins with some small gestures towards their political base voters to differentiate themselves from each other while the big decisions -- destroying the economic safety net, immigration, trade, Europe etc. -- are all taken in secret behind closed doors with zero input allowed by the people who live here and vote for these fuckers.

You can go to bed now and miss all the pointless theatre.
