Alvarez needs a career slap and to get out of this identity crisis. What we have is a made to order opponent where he can actually shine as a thinking boxer AND look devastating. Something missing recently My foot might end up in my mouth but I'm thinking

Angulo: Part deux but quicker tko for howdy doody

Is this the fight thread? Michael Buffer's voice is back. Buffer must have been pissed off last week. The biggest fight of his career and he sounded like a bullfrog with the flu.

Alvarez couldn't have looked much better but to be fair Kirkland couldn't have looked much worse.

I've got Colonel Bob and some amazingly swishy guy as the colour man. Anybody know who the hell it is?

I think it's a solid win for him. He went to war with a warrior and got it done quick and brutal.

He's fought Lara, Trout and Mayweather in his last 4 or 5 fights, it was time to see him get in there with a brawler.

I wasn't impressed with Canelo because I thought Kirkland fought such an immature, face first kind of fight. You should spark out someone that is going to wing pitty pat punches like that. It was fun in a caveman way, but was a bit predictable. I guess it was made to order after Lara, but I don't think it means very much. Kirkland should probably not be allowed to step up again. He just doesn't have the tools to protect himself.

It is boxing writer and self-proclaimed nerd Doug Fischer of The Ring magazine (Floyd fans despise him)

it went on as planned, he fought a guy who is one dimensional, never consistent, and had been inactive for nearly a year and a half, should have been rematching Lara or Trout rather than facing Kirkland in the first place, this was nothing more than Canelo/Angulo 2, but well the ginger head fans are gonna make this seem like it was a rising of the phoenix moment when it really wasn't, Mayweather schools him again if they ever tried to sell a rematch

I've been saying it for the last two years. Kirkland is a club fighter at best. The skill level was worlds apart. Canelo vs GGG would be a great fight. This is a fight that would really test GGG.

Yes, back to normal here. I think everyone was under the weather in that Pac fight with both fighters, the announcer, and the anthem singer being off.

It was a pitiful showing from Kirkland, meanwhile HBO was riding both fighters trying to suggest it was something meaningful. Kirkland hadn't fought in a couple of years and on getting knocked down, got up and did the same thing again and again. 'Oh, but look at the will, look at the will!' was all HBO could say. Please, pull the other one! HBO has almost become boxing's version of CNN. Tell the truth! He fought a predictable and stupid fight. Instead, it's constant marketing. Canelo is HBO's Royal baby. Ginger, fleecing the public, manipulating emotions and his own network tugging the strings.
