Fight Manager and Trainer - Gil Clancy.
The young Light-Heavyweight from Anaheim, California > left the West-Coast for
Florida in March of this year. Mike was promoted by Pete Ashlock of Orlando.
But after only '1-Bout' {April 4th}, Mike made a move North, to New York City.
Now, the talented but still searching boxer will be under the guidance of Gil Clancy.
Gil Clancy >
"Mike has been in 'a fog' since getting Knocked Out by Bob Foster last year {June 27, 1972}."
"If he follows my instructions, I'll be able to rebuild him and get him back into contention
within a year."
"The kid is 'head-strong', and he wanted me to get him a rematch with Bob Foster for this
year {July 1973}. I told him that he was 'out-of-his-mind'. I told him that he's still not in
the type of condition {mentally} to Challenge Bob Foster."
"If you want to beat Bob Foster, you have to have a 'fight plan', proper preparation and
most importantly, a sound mind. Otherwise, that guy will take your head off. The last thing
I want, is for Mike to get 'plastered' again."
