I agree it is getting ridiculous. He was offered Hopkins at the City Ground and he turtned it down because he said he wouldn't get much credit for the win. He said Hopkins was someone he had massive respect for and is a bit of a hero for him, so why wouldn't you want to bring your hero to your hometown for a big money fight. It would sellout and Sky would make it PPV so it would be a decent retirement fund against your hero in Nottingham but it doesn't get his juices flowing. Might as well hang 'em up.

Froch is at the top of his game and coming of a career high performance. His Las Vegas fight has gone with Junior losing, Ward does not want to come to Nottingham, he does not want to fight Groves again, Degale is a style nightmare, Kessler is retired and he has no interest in moving up in weight.
    Froch options are limited.

If he can motivate himself to get back in the ring then he should be allowed to do that. If I was Froch I would get in the ring just to stay busy and relevant even a non-title fight but he may not want that.

Im not sure that he's still at the top of his game. He has had an excellent career, fought everyone, ducked nobody and has been in many crowd pleasing wars.

He does come across as a bit of a dick now and again ..... but who doesn't?

He was always a teak tough, fit competitor with an iron chin. He tended to somewhat neglect his excellent boxing skills when he went pro and focused on his toughness (I recall him being quite the slickster in the amateurs over the shorter distance). All boxers fight injured, but his see my have been minor niggles over his career.

If Froch is not totally focused on the fight, if he doesn't train right and uv he doesn't bring that fear and anger into the ring, he can be made to look average. Groves is not exactly a world beater IMO and he made Carl look ponderous, slow and average in that first fight. Only George's well known stamina problems allowed Froch to (prematurely) win the fight. I'd hate to see what a real slick, top contender would do if Frock wasn't on his game

He's had a great career, time to hang em up Carl and enjoy a well deserved retirement.
