Two nasty series going on. Mario and Wayne together were great but this team had way more depth IMO. Most dominant team in IIHF history.

Canada teams are always solid, but I'd take this 2015 team to fuck that 1987 team right in the ass.

That 1987 team was impressive on paper but struggled way more in that tourney than this one did.

Babcock headed to Toronto, that's a big coup for them to lure him away from Detroit of all places. I certainly hope he can right the ship....especially if he wants to do that trade for Semin lol

Jesus I never knew Tom Barasso was American. I could be wrong but I think it's either him or Grant Furh who has the distinction of being the goalie who scored the most points ever (assists).

I never watched the full 1987 Canada Cup, just the highlights, because I was only a year old. I know that it's more than sticking a bunch of star players on a team to make a winning team, they have to work well together and I've never seen the kind of chemistry that this Canadian team had.

A team I do remember watching was the 1998 Canadian olympic team. They had two of the greatest goalies EVER, Brodeur and Roy. They had Gretzky, Sakic, Lindros, Yzerman, Shanny, Linden, Recchi, ect ect on forward. Stevens, Bourque, Pronger, Al Macinnis, ect on defense. It was such a great mesh of veterans and young super stars, it was an absolute dream team... and they couldn't even medal. It was sickening!
