This is likely to get made. Golovkin wants big money fights. Chavez and Ward aren't big money fights. Alvarez and Cotto are but neither of them want to fight him anytime soon. Golovkin can move up to 168 and if he loses he's still middleweight champ. A defeat abroad at 168 isn't going to make Golovkin any less marketable in America than he is now. It won't damage his brand and Golovkin losing makes a fight with Alvarez or Cotto more likely.
I think we'll see Golovkin concentrate on the not get hit part of boxing a lot more if he fights Froch. He won't just steam into him like he does with guys at 160 and he'll move his head a lot more than he does now. You all know how much I like Froch so I'm picking Golovkin in a FOTY contender. The fact that it will be a hell of a fight and do huge UK PPV numbers and Hearn says sell out Wembley means it's going to get made.
