Won 3 titles away from his own country, 2 in Japan. That is a mark of a very good fighter!
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
It was the first time I had seen him fight the other week, he does look pretty good doesn't he.
Nice fast offensive accurate puncher with what looks like genuine KO power, it is a shame that the little fellas don't get anywhere near as much coverage as they should, I've seen some great scraps in the lighter weights but they are always overlooked.
Problem is he doesn't have a deep division to shine in. He is very good but not a lot to demonstrate on. He has fought a lot of gimme's in his home country. The lower weight classes have always been fun to watch it just doesn't appeal to mainstream fans, they think of them like watching minor leagues or canadian football.
Class. He seems a world apart from a lot of other fighters. He can box, he can spark you out, he can slip and use his feet to make you miss. Hopefully he will get a bit more mainstream coverage, and some big money fights to at least earn himself a decent retirement pot. So many talented people end up scraping by in a world dominated by mediocre celebrities, often with little or no talent in their chosen field, if they even have one.
His purse was $200,000 for the last fight.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
