    3 rounds master

I have to admit im impressed with how how strong he looked over a fitter looking Johnson but im equally unimpressed with Johnson for his lack of effort.

Honestly could not see Fury, Price or any other domestic HW troubling AJ at all.

I doubt any HW in the Uk last 3 rounds with him.
    You say tomato,
    ‘n I say …… it correctly.

The stoppage was impressive, but no one should get too carried away. Joshua is still at the stage where he is fighting hand picked stiffs who pose him no threat and that's all Johnson ever was. Joshua was never going to be tested by a guy who doesn't throw any meaningful punches.

We still don't know anything about Joshua that we didn't already know. He's young, in great shape and hits very hard. We've known that from day one.
Good to see some logic and reason in here.

I like Anthony Joshua, obviously he's a very exciting prospect, and I do consider banging out Kevin Johnson in 2 rounds impressive given Kingpin's reputation as a durable HW, but like you said he's 35 now and has been getting beaten on for the last several years so you have to wonder how much of that is Johnson just being worn down and at the end of his rope. Definitely not the same guy who was in there with Vitali.

Before I'm sold on Joshua, I want to see him step up. Let's see him in there with a vet like Thompson or one of the younger guys coming off a loss (Stiverne, ect).
I agree. But most people were thinking this was going to be one sided but go quite far. Stoppage was impressive. Fury was unable to do it and you would easily argue Johnson was in better shape for this than the Fury fight. Thompson has been shit lately too and have no doubt Joshua stops him early too but agree someone like him or Chisora is probably next for him.

Price is a fighter Id like to see him in with soon because Price can bang and will certainly come to fight. Id still like to see Price v Fury but it seems like Fury is never gonna get into the ring with a boxer puncher until he gets his world title shot and loses.

As Ive said above, apart from Wlad there is not one heavyweight I would make fav over Joshua if they fought next week and I think only an idiot would back against Joshua with 50/50 odds available. People may say Im believing the sky hype machine but just look at him compared to other fighters. Hes just solid muscle, fast hands and really long arms.

Out of interest if you were to price up Joshua-Wlad right now what would it be?

Very hard to price Wlad v Joshua. I was thinking about 2/5 Wlad, 15/8 Joshua and 50/1 the Draw. If it was his next fight though Id say the odds would go off closer to pickem as would be floods of money on Joshua but you couldnt justify any shorter on Joshua I think.

I gotta go with your excellent comment. I do think Joshua has all the potential and want him to become Great. But, it's far to early to be expecting or predicting based on so few fights.

Plenty of decent tests out there and there will be opponents who make the fight dull and go the distance - all Heavyweights need those fights and will get them. The genuine ones.

I was impressed the way he disposed of Johnson and only a hater wouldn't but you've summed up Kingpins actual ambition and that's spot on.

Joshua is a big powerful beast but he needs rounds, aggressive/tough opponents before messing with the better fighters in the division. Any boxing fan who has a knowledge of the sport, knows how the previous best Heavyweights did it and the same applies to Joshua.

I'm just glad we got an exciting journey to watch.

I think it's time to step him up a level. Joshua needs to fight a guy who genuinely believes he can beat him and it needs to be in a fight that means something.

They should be looking to get him a British title fight and then put him in there with Price. I can't see Joshua walking straight through Price and he'll have some respect for his power, so he'll have to put more thought into his work. It's still a very winnable fight for AJ, but he'll get a taste of what it's like to fight a big ambitious guy who carries a threat.

    The power is real people.
I think his youth and energy is real. His power is pretty good for a heavyweight, but not a Lennox Lewis power. But it is good.

I think, at this stage, Wilder, Fury, Wlad, Povetkin and Stiverne may be a little too much for him. A healthy Helenius too.

AJ is good, but not at that level yet. Not yet.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!
